Q. I have installed redhat linux 9.0 with squid proxy installed and configured.using this proxy my client machines are able to connect to the internet but not able to download any file from internet.
A. You have to choices - enable the download configuration on the Squid, see more resources here about this:

or you disable caching proxy on the clients.
