Q. I just want to confirm if anyone has ever used Google Chrome on Mandriva 2009.0.
NOT on 2009.1 or 2010
if yes, could you please give me links to the rpm and procedures how you successfully got it to work? thanks a bunch.
I need it badly. My boss wants me to test a site in Google Chrome but I can't since my workstation here at the office uses Mandriva 2009.0 and it's my first time to work with a Linux OS.
Thank you hawklord. I have come to that conclusion as well. Now, I want to know how could I update Mandriva to 2010.1? I'm a newbie with Linux OS. Thanks

A. chrome is not supported on 2009.0, you will need to upgrade your system to 2010.1,
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=chromium-browser&srodzaj=3
source - mandriva user
(Compiz's first link is for 2009.1/cooker which is the development release for mandriva,
the second link is for 2010, i tried it on 2009.0 - it failed)
the dates give the second link away, mandriva 2010 was released in november 2009, the hack is for 2010.0/cooker before the rpm was built for standard release,
sorry compiz)

Google Chrome For Mac OS X or Linux?
Q. How can Mac and Linux Users Download Google Chrome
A. Google hasn't yet released its browser Chrome for the Mac and Linux users. But the CodeWeavers team have already created a Linux and Mac port of Google Chrome. The Google Browser port, known as Crossover Chromium, is available for download on Mac OS X as a native Mac .dmg file or on Ubuntu, RedHat, Suse, etc. as standard Linux packages, here >> http://techkiddie.blogspot.com/2009/04/download-google-chrome-for-mac-and.html
How can I install Flash for Linux to be used in Chrome? Also... permissions?
Q. I recently downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 (a Linux based operating system). I have spent a bit of time setting it up and I got it to a point where I thought that it was working pretty well. Today I wanted to follow a link that one of my friends gave me to watch a video. It informed me that I needed to have the latest version of Flash installed and it provided me a link for where I could download it. I followed the link and downloaded the 64-bit Linux tar.gz version. It automatically saved the file to the Downloads library rather than in the file system where it was supposed to go. Now I am unable to move it to File System (Where my Chrome plugins folder is) to activate flash due to inadequate permissions.
I heard rumors that Chrome recently came out with a linux version that had Flash installed by default. Is that the unstable beta version they are talking about there? If it isn't, how can I activate flash?
I obviously can't watch youtube videos.

A. Can you watch youtube videos on Chrome?
If you can then you already have Flash installed.

In the beginning you said that you spent time setting up Ubuntu, so I assumed you installed flash and that the problem was strictly with Chrome.
type this into the terminal and you will get flash for all your web browsers.
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

If you want to manually install flash only on Chrome then you can follow the instructions I gave this user with either the download link I provided for her or with your 64-bit download.

The only difference will be the path. Instead of Mozilla it will be else where (maybe in the .cache or .config) I don't use Chrome so I don't remember it off the top of my head.
